As the title says, should I replace my Antec Tricool fans at the top and back of the case with better fans?

I was thinking of one of these three:
Scythe Ultrakaze 120x120x38 (87.63CFM)
Scythe S-Flex SF21F 120x120x25 (63.7CFM)
Zalman ZM-F3 120x120x25 (76CFM)

What do you think? Noise is not an issue, my fan controller takes care of that.

Yeah, I was thinking about replacing my stock Coolermaster ones with some new ones. It'll cost a bit though, good fans are expensive. The S-Flex's are pretty good, provide a shit load of air whilst still being pretty quiet.

I don't know about your needs for CFM, but I'm really happy with my GlacialTech SilentBlade GT1225EBDL-1 fans. Really cheap, extemely silent, and ok airflow of about 40CFM.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I think my tricool fan does over 40cfm

By the way, do you gain anything by having 2 fans side by side blowing in the same direction, seeing that I will have a couple of spare fans.

By side by side, do you mean one in front of the other? If so, no you don't. If you mean above/beside, then yes - it's more airflow.

I have a couple Raidmax 120mm fans, at like 77CFM or something that I got for 4$ each. They're not too loud and work great.

We have same case (had same fan) I used the Scythe S-Flex's... real measurable difference and no noise quieter in fact).

But the s-flex costs the same as ultrakaze, which has like 20% more CFM, I have one ultrakaze right now, and it doesn't make any noise at low RPM.

There is your answer (I did not see the ultrakaze when i bought). Other than the efficiency you are paying for the reliability of them.

You have the fan controller, so go with the higher CFM

Delta Focus Flow fans

That little beast it 190+CFM BTW, as the name suggests they have fixed blades angled the opposite way to the rotating blades, that helps 'focus' the air flow, which increases the air pressure, which makes them really exceptional for attaching to CPU coolers.

Actually, joking aside although at full wack they are deafening, if you put them on half power they still outperform everything and aren't all that noisy.

Delta. They're as good computer fans as they are Black Hawk Down soldiers.

No stores here in Iceland sell those

The highest CFM fan I can find in any store here is the Scythe Ultrakaze.

Shame, the Delta's are really very good if set up properly. Sythes are great too though so go with those.

Speaking of replacing fans, I just ordered a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with a 88CFM YateLoon fan.

look no further than the 1200RPM scythe slipstreams. They are great. Silent PC FTW
