Let's all compile a list of the rediculous, intrusive, unconstitutional, and un-American laws and/or regulations that have been applied to our freedom-raped land.

All you have to do is find an article on a news site that you are upset about and post it ill take care of the rest.

The list:

Laptops give up their secrets to U.S. customs agents
US says it has right to kidnap British citizens
Gun and ammo sales banned in L.A.

I don't have a link, but the seat belt laws really piss me off.

Oh Noes, I am only 38 I need the government to protect me from myself.  Fucking raping people with a $150 fine for not doing something that can only effect you (well unless you are in the back seat and fly through someone in the front seat or are ejected from the car an fly like a bloody corpse missle into a Geo Metro and explode taking out a family of 3 and their pet dog scruffy that was pregnant with a litter of 6).

10 day wait to pick up a firearm.  CA law, even though the CA state constitution says it honors the 2A.  Sorry, no news article..but it's true.

Habeas Corpus is removed from application for prisoners held by American military..An article talking about it.

I can't buy an AK47 or any automatic weapons...again, CA and Federal laws which I can't site, but are true and common knowledge. (see CA AG site above)

..that's a good enough start.

Can't get more unconstitutional than that.  Banning guns on public land.  What will be next, banning them on city streets because it is owned by the county?

True, you should be able to fly through your windshield when you rear end someone because you didn't wear a seatbelt.  But I think that law was created more to protect the cost the government/tax payers incur when there's a road fatality.  It costs alot to scoop up a body, tag and bag it, and insurance firms also dig into taxes as a result of such things.

Same thing for motorcycle helmets!

City lands should be considered public property, but they are not.

Yeah, but the cop will always bust you when you are backing out of a parking space at the mall.  Stupid public servant tax collectors, to busy busting no seatbelt wearers to arrest one of the 13 million Mexicans or the Meth addicts that you can't throw a stone without it hitting.

I remember when there was no negative stigma that went with being a Mexican, I would be pissed if I was one of them that actually didn't jump fences.

Actually not unconstitutional, IMHO, but it is a disgrace.  Gays have all the rights hetero's have...but they just had to go beyond the people (PROP 22 PASSED banning recognition of marriage of same sex couples).  THis is why people hate gays..because they push things way too far...they seek "additional" rights and privileges..and they are unethical in their process.

So here's to AIDS wiping them off the planet!  *clink*

when you get ejected from the car and hit the ground and survive tax payers foot the bill for keeping you that way. seeing as emergency rooms cannot turn you away when you can't pay, and when you're unconscious you definitely can't, and no insurance will cover you when you failed to wear your seatbelt.

besides, why do you care so much? it makes fucking sense to wear it, basically the law is redundant anyways.

You know what they say:  Your right to not wear a seatbelt ends when your body flies through my windshield.  Anyway, driving is not a right.  It's a privilege.  So you have to abide by the rules or pay the price.

All motorcycles must be outlawed now to protect your tax money.  Motorcycles = No Seatbelts = ????  <---how does this fit in with your argument???

Also, why not make it law to wear helmets and neck braces while driving because head and neck injuries from car wreck cost insurance companies Millions each year.  Hell it is my tax dollars.

My point has nothing to do with if seat belts are good or not, it has to do with how the fuck does the government get off telling me to do something that is none of their bussiness and has nothing to do with the government.

What next, fine people for not wearing a lifevest while swimming or maybe have the police inspect the smoke detectors in your house and write you a $150 ticket if they don't work.

The government forces people to wear seatbelts, but allows people to smoke cigarettes?

I also point out, without taking a real stance on the 2nd Amendment issue, that at the time the Bill of Rights was written, guns were 6 foot long rifles with a rate of fire of about one shot per minute. There is a huge difference between the guns of 200 years ago and the guns of today.

It doesn't matter.  That doesn't change the fact that any law restricting the use of firearms should be passed legally with an amendment.  You cannot simply disregard an amendment because you don't like it.  The founding fathers were not stupid.  They knew that technology would advance.

You think that's bad. The nanny state is in full effect in the UK. You can do nothing these days on your own land without getting some kind of permit. Guy wants to change a 1m x 1.5m flat porch roof to a pitched new roof, he has to apply to three different bodies and employ someone like me to make the applications, he then has to wait 6month to get the approvals. The application and professional fees added up to twice the cost of doing the work.
I see this pattern starting to take effect in the states. DON'T LET THEM MAKE IT AS BAD AS IT IS HERE. Your constitution, at least protects you from government interference, so protect it at all costs.
What I loved about the USA when I was there was, you can go to a festival where its up to yourself to look after yourself and it says on the ticket "you may die at this festival" so if you do, its your own fault and no one can be sued, so insurance companies don't insist on over the top health and safety provisions. Leaving your own life in your own hands is fine by me!!
Its all about money and protecting big business, particularly insurance companies. That effects everyone, because everyone needs to be insured.
