Many of you must have noticed the bible in a lot of hotels bedside tables.  How the fuck do they know that I'm a Christian?  I mean I could be an Atheist, a Jew, a Muslim, etc.  I admit I read the bible a few times in hotel rooms, pretty boring tbh.  Anyway I don't think they should provide the bible if you don't ask for one.  What do you think?  Should hotels provide a bible in the bedside table?

Depends. At the end of the day the Hotel owner can do what he or she wishes. I personally think it's distasteful. I wouldn't really want that sort of shit in modern civilised countries (aka, not Iran/Saudi Arabia/Paki.......stan)

Yeah I hate that they have Bibles in Hotels. I don't want that evil (imo) Jew shit .... but meh, just throw it in the drawer and don't get bothered by it. They mean no harm.

I couldn't really care less whether they did it or not tbh. I'm not religious but there are those who are and I'm sure hotel owners do it to avoid any late night conflicts with a Jehova's Witness in need of some Jesus love.

+ It's excellent toilet paper when the cleaners forget to leave the sweet stuff.

I don't really see the relevance anymore, and I think it's somewhat disrespectful to make available a single religious text in today's world. In the end, though, it's the hotel owner's prerogative. Personally, I think higher of hotels that avoid religious texts completely.

whats with all the obsession with wiping your ass with religious books? Every topic related to religion has comments like that...

Anyway hotel owner can put Mein Kampf if he wants to. Private property. I cant imagine somebody being inconvenienced by a Bible in a drawer.

Since he's charging it to my credit card, it's not private property while I'm paying for it.  And btw, do you imagine what would happen if a hotel had a copy of Mein Kampf in the bedside table.  It would get to the news in less than a minute.

Television and certain types of draperies offend me also. All hotel rooms should be white (debatable) empty rooms

Besides the hotel owner doesn't put them there. If you are condiment in what you believe who cares who leaves what in the room (barring used sexual items)

Hotels do not provide them,
hotels do provide a bed, pillows, soap, towels and sometimes wifi
hotels have never provided Bibles
https://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b120/cwillow894/bible-1.jpg
are provided free by Gideons
along with the fact you do not have to use the pillow, towels or soap, you also do not have to try and save your soul, you are free to lose it, sell it, or allow others to use it (do not try and sell the towels)

What the fuck man. They clean out the rooms and shit. If I see a Bible in a Hotel room when I enter, it's the Hotels fault not some Gideon.

Normally hotel rooms are cleaned before they're handed over to new guests. If I leave the day's paper on the dresser, it'll be removed. If a bible is put there and not removed, the hotel is providing it.

Edit: Too late D:

If the hotels let them put the bible there, the hotels are providing them.  Hotels don't provide TV, Sony does.

But the hotel pays for the tv, they don't pay for the bible. If you steal the bible, noone will care. Steal the tv and they will charge you.

don't forget guns kill people, not people, I mean if your going to argue some liberal bullshit go for the gold, would you also like to remove the pledge of allegiance from public schools/ wait, sorry your liberalism has done that, well thankfully hotels aren't public /liberal rant

Yes, it was a joke.  I was trying to make a point.  They are just books.  Muslims shouldn't feel offended by someone shooting a Qu'ran as Christians shouldn't feel offended by someone wiping his ass with the Bible.  Btw, I prefer toilet paper, it's softer.

So don't go to the hotel. It's private property (as stated).

Make enough noise, create a movement, and change their policy.

This applies here as well. In "a free market of Ideas" it takes persuasion to change traditional thought.

Where's the "I couldn't give a flying fuck" option. As long as I get what I paid for, I don't care what 'extras' they through in (within reason).

Certain areas of the world don't bathe that much. Why should they be paying for soap?

I really don't give a fuck if there's a Bible in the bedside table, but I can't know there's one until I get the room.  Would you feel ok if they had dildos in the room, it's private property.

Couldn't care less (as long as they are clean).

It's a private business, they can do whatever they want. They could put a pile of live snakes in there if they wanted, if you don't like it don't stay there.
