Some were, most weren't. Apart from religious scriptures there's little else (read: nothing) proving they existed. Unlike other people throughout history, where their existence is in the form of many different types of scripture.

You're not supposed to take it literally. So it doesn't matter if they existed or not. As long as you understand whatever idea they're trying to portray. What does matter is when you do take it literally and then take it out of context and then fuck everything up.
So the ten commandments aren't commandments?  More like 10 suggestions?  So do me a favour translate where I'm supposed to take the bible literally and symbolic since you seem to know where all the dividing lines are.

That argument'll go nowhere fast.

Not that that's rare here.  Just pointing it out.

It's not my fault you're too stupid to think for yourself. But since you asked, you're not supposed to take any of it literally, and I know this is asking alot but I suggest you read inbetween the lines of the stories.

OK then. So the commandment about "thou shalt not kill" is more of a suggestion?  Here's the problem sparkey... Brainiacs such as yourself tell people to take the bible figuratively.  Then there is the other camp that says no, take it literally.  Well then why didn't God tell us which to pick and choose?  Why is it you?
I don't know, I'm no god(s) expert. Must be the same reason him/her/it/they let us also have the choice to kill and do anything else (free will). Course, I don't really believe in any higher beings myself, maybe.

I'm just saying, it's pretty clear the Bible/Many religious texts are there to instill morals and perhaps explain a few things that couldn't be explained, rather than be a way of life to be taken literally.
Of course, alot of the things nowadays in the 21st century can be explained scientifically, so that leaves the religious texts only there for moral values. Which is why I say don't take it literally, but just learn from the stories.

Best of both no?

My only beef with Christianity/Islam is the fact that they've become so twisted and distorted (actually Islam was fucked up from day 0) and how so much conversions and invasions and taken place in the name of them. It's bang out of order

Maybe you're right. I haven't really read the bible. Perhaps it is a bad text to follow for Moral values. I just thought from what I know that it was pretty decent when you look past all the stupid supernatural crap and try to understand the morals.

Ok now you deleted the post now I'm confused

Hell, no arguments from me there.  I kinda always thought them to be twisted, coming from a past altar boy..  And, honestly.. I don't buy into it anymore.  There are too many discrepancies.

*edit... yea I deleted it, made a killer slam post, but then deleted that one too when I saw yours.  sorry.  Relegion pisses me off.

Why does it matter how many anti-Zionist Jews there are?

Because it's interesting to know how much anti-Zionist Jews there are.
