Lol. First off, Intel is generally better. This isn't a 360-PS3 thing where it's a decision on which is more enjoyable for you, it's for the specs of it, and almost all Core 2's beat the Phenom's.

Plus, saying that we never talk about the "joys of blue screens" is such an assinine thing to say. I've never gotten a blue screen of death on my rig and I have an older Core 2, the E6600. You remind me of the PS3 fanboys who always say "have fun with your RRoD"....which is funny because I've had mine for over 1 1/2 years and not gotten the RRoD once.

Some Phenoms have the TLB bug at stock clocks and your describtion fits perfectly the TLB erratum.

I genuinly dont think its the TLB bug...otherwise I would be noticing the problems at load aswell and its never had problems at load.
