Just wondering because someone said my harddrive caddy is wank has no ventilation and that. I took it out it the enclosure it's slightly uncomfortable to hold from the heat. Is it alright as long as it can't cook eggs and stuff?

my harddrives get around 20-50C. And I've never had any problems with them. How hot do yours get? Try installing an temperature tool or something.

Well, for most HDs, 60-70C isn't generally a problem. 50C is hot to touch, 60C is enough for you not to wanna hold it, 70C will hurt within a couple of seconds.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

It's an 3.5 one put into an external caddy. Thanks freezer!
