Premium peripheral maker, Logitech has warned us that it is about to let loose a new rodent. Nicknamed V450 Nano, the upcoming product is a wireless laser mouse for laptops that uses the 2.4 GHz spectrum and Logitech's easy to lose Nano-receiver which plugs into any USB 2.0 ports.

The new V450 Nano mouse also provides up to 12 months of battery life and an ergonomic design that should help when using the peripheral for too many consecutive hours. Logitech's V450 Nano is set to be released in the US before the end of this month and it will reach Europe in July. The mouse's suggested price tag stands at 49.99.

Probably because of the size of the connector...

And I like the mouse. Keeping my MX510 though, but still.

I don't think so. You can get even smaller Bluetooth receivers nowadays. I think the mouse surface is made out of nano parts.

Haven't they done something like this before? Or am I just dreaming! Anyway, it looks nice. I'm on an LX7 at the minute and the wireless is great. The connector is about 1m away from the mouse if you were to go 'through' the desk and reception is great.

Probably called the Nano because it's like the size of the G9, and your entire palm is bigger than it.

It's the small reciever.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

There is another mouse called the VX Nano, and it uses the same receiver. Yes, it is called the "nano" because of the size of the receiver. The VX Nano looks like a better mouse though.
