Ok

Heres my plan, get a job, get 2grand, and start kite surfing. I already went out and asked for a job at the gerden centre but they 'your fucking hilarious' when I asked (how would be a way to repond to that?).

Anway, theres this thing called 'Brannd Amry' which is a promotional company and some of the people from my school do it, and pay is quite good (12 euro and hour) but its only a few hours for a few days per promotion. So ill ask around about that and see what people are doing which promotional jobs.

But for today its windy as fuck out side but its sunny, not much I can do today.

It seems that you have no confidence whatsoever. Go out there and force yourself to change...quit coming up with these bullshit excuses. The more time you sit making them the less time you'll have doing what you should be doing..socializing.

NB: Don't have a party at your house in your position. I'm speaking from experience when I say that people with few friends that have parties usually get their house trashed. Sad, sad but true.

A few subtle tips:
Compliment them - if you compliment someone, you'll find that you'll feel better making them feel better!
Address them by their first name now and again - creates a personal level
Body language - give eye contact, make sure your arms aren't crossed - that'll give negative signals.

Getting a job IS the key.  Since it sounds like you have few or no friends, you are stuck in an impossible situation.  You don't go out because you have no friends and you have no friends because you don't go out.

Get a job and create a good first impression with the people around you.  They will want to hang with you.  That is the key.

Good luck buddy.

Go to the skatepark, indentify someone who is about the same level as you, and challenge them to do tricks.
Then get better with them, involve another higher skilled person, etc etc. Skatepark is the way to go for friends tbh.

Yes it is. I get £320 a month for 10 hours a week working at tesco. I also work 46 hours a week on my apprenticeship for £200 a week. A job or career is probbaly the best way to make new friends.

Well the fun thing most people don't realize is that you can be anyone, just try and be a nice guy and always act confident. You don't have to be confident you should just pretend. You can be anyone you want (This doesn't mean you should lie to people) but just act like your a confident guy and just remember when people ask you a question don't say just yes or a no, try to communicate. When you're buying something just try to say more then hello and goodbye. Every time you'll have even small conversations you'll gain more skill and confidence to talk to people. And remember you can be exactly how you want to be.

That's a very good plan... So you asked for a job at the garden centre and they were like "Your fucking hilarious" as in... no way.. or as in you were funny?

That company sounds a great way to meet people from your school, remember to talk to them.

I never for once suggested you go to the gym. I said SPORT, and what I meant by that is go out there and play some football, go biking, go swimming, play basketball. Do SOMETHING.
And make it a TEAM sport. That way you will meet people who are interested in the same sport as you are. If they are better at it than you (and a half decent person), then you might learn a thing or two.

QFT!

The thing is, and as hard as it seems, is to just force yourself to get out there and interact with people. But yeah, start small. Say you are at the local shops, and when you go to buy something quickly talk to the person serving you - "How are you going today?" "etc... can be about ANYTHING".

Confidence will come through repeated (positive) experiences. Start small, as it's been said, and work your way up. Just remember to believe in yourself. You may not look the best, be the smartest or most skilled at something... but neither is everybody else! Try and believe in yourself and what you have to 'offer'. Sorting yourself out first helps with the other people. If I were you, I'd try and get a copy of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. You'd probably need to read it 2-3 times, and force yourself to do the stuff in the book, but it would most likely be drastically life altering...

Whatever advice you take from here, write it down somewhere. Sure you can think about it, and remember what we say, but writing it down will make it more 'real'. Hell, stick it up somewhere in your room. Just take this as an opportunity to make some changes.

Don't look at it as something that is a big pressure, because if you do you'll never get any better and if you start talking to people you will be able to do it without being as shy and it will come naturally to you, you won't be able to talk to people any better if you don't actually start doing it, with practice it will become easier and easier.

The way I made all my friends was... talking to them. I naturally make friends so its hard to pinpoint how I do, and I have often wondered myself. I think about the conversations I have with them when I first meet them. Its usually through a mutual friend and we just start with small talk like "How do you know Jimmy?" And then let it go from there. Or if I'm at school etc I talk to them about what they are doing.

Just put yourself out there, hang out with one of your mates and meet some of his mates and start to make your inner circle grow a bit. Organise an outing etc to tighten your friendships.

I already knew that from your PM's J/K!

Anyway, I didn't read the whole thread, apart from the sport suggestion. But, how about finding a job? It will really help. And the day passes very quickly while you're doing something. And you will probably meet alot of people, and if any of them are around your age, then maybe you can go out with them.  Oh and on top of that, you will make money.

If you're still in college, then idk, just ask people to go out with you. If they refuse, then fuck 'em. There are others that you can ask.

Just a suggestion.

You don't need to stop gaming at all.

Do say 10 press ups before bed. Then the next night do 1 more. Then next night do another.

Force yourself to do it. It takes less than a minute. Within a month you will be stronger and you will feel better about your self.

How many good friends do you have? Organise a party with some people you know, you will meet new people etc.
Im strong enough already I guess, I can already 40 push ups.

i just need friends, and if i organised a party my house would get fucked over.

I agree with what many people said, job is the best way to get your self out of the house.
