I know very well its 2ms GTG and 8000:1 dynamic. Nevertheless I can not say bad of this model.Bertster7 wrote:

Also I got it for only AU$306, so ner.
My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
Damn Haters!!!
Samsung's dynamic contrast ratios are lies. 8000:1 is just not doable. There are plenty of practical tests that have demonstrated that Samsung's DCRs are not what the monitors actually produce. 2ms GTG, is a pretty meaningless figure. GTG times tell you nothing, they are just a figure bandied about by manufacturers to dupe consumers.Cheez wrote:

You got it for cheap because it is a budget TN panel (that is the big benefit of TN panels, they are cheap). TN panels are just a bit too low end and rubbish for my tastes. If you can't see that the colours are inferior, then good for you, but I can.
Until I see a TN panel that can match an S-PVA or S-IPS panel on colour, then I'll stick with them.

I have the 205BW, still 1680x1050. http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6824001081
I love this monitor.
I love this monitor.
Contrary your views of Apple, would that sentence suggest you are a fan of Apple monitors?Bertster7 wrote:

They'd be awful for gaming, but have good colour. As you'd expect from S-IPS panels. The panel in the 20" iMacs is absolutely shite. One of the worst displays I've seen on the market these days.kylef wrote:

They're very expensive though and not the best, Eizo make the best panels.
If I were to buy a monitor at the moment I'd probably get a 245T from Samsung. Possibly a 2408WFP/2407WFP-HC from Dell, I'm not sure if there is an HC version of the 08 model, or if it has HC as standard.

I have about 7 or 8 EIZO 15" panels stored away somewhere, lol Pretty old, but it does the job. Using one right now for media. Interesting post, their price really steers me away unfortunately. I fell in love with one the first time I saw it. It was running quite hot though! (although had been on for a day or two straight as far as I know)Bertster7 wrote:

So...a 2253BW would be a good buy? I'm looking for a monitor with good color. It doesn't have to be graphic professional quality, but I don't want any faded screens either. Also, a decent response time is also a must since this will be used mainly for gaming.
I like that monitor, though I plumped for an LG, they claimed 10,000:1 which somehow I doubt but it does have a great range, noticeable over my old samsung 22'' (that I had for like a week ).Gooners wrote:
