I don't think anyone would. Seeing as how both Sony and Microsoft release new consoles around every 5 or 6 years.

Though I'm not going to try and sell you a 360. Unless someone starts paying me to advertise it.

But think about about your online fee's for the next few years, 40 Pounds for 1 year x 5 years = 200 Pounds almost as much as you would pay for the initial console. (I used 5 years, because I don't expect Microsoft to release anything till about then).

The HD Movie era is coming to an end as far as retailers are saying. So Instead of buying your 200 pound Blu-Ray Player, why not get the PS3.

+

PS3's Game Library is improving a lot.

= PS3 being the better choice.
more or less agree, xbox just seem to be throwing everything in desperation

Xbox have sold enough consoles to use the profits to feed Africa for 5 years. They're hardly desperate.

- My Xbox has never done either of those, and I've had it since December '06.

- People make it out like EVERYONE gets the RRoD...which isn't true. And if you DO, Xbox support is great.

- Why do you care about paying to play online? I thought price wasn't a factor in your choice?

the price in buying a console don't matter, but getting it up and running maybe, i hate paying to pay, if you buy a game you should be able to play it to its full capacity as you have paid for it IMO. But as someone mentioned £30X5= £150 on xbox live over 5 years, that is a lot seeing im a casual gamer aswell

It's only the price of an extra game a year, its hardly breaking the bank.  And, it is allowing you to enjoy the games you do buy that little bit more.  Though that argument is somewhat quashed by the fact PS3 does it free, if you play, say, COD4 on a PS3, then try it on Live, its night and day.

that is a big draw back the xbox live, though games like Fifa use Ea's server and they are free on xbox due to using a different server, thats what i have read

The ps3 is the investors console. The 360 is the impulse buyers console. Sony pretty much get their consoles right the first time where as microsoft is a few trial and errors during production #1 biggest mistake. Usually as people we learn from our mistakes when purchasing a defective item to not buy from the same company again. People claim the 360 is cheaper but in reality it isnt. Who really buys an online capable game to only play single player?

Look at the games you want to play. Should make it easier for you.

If you have a gaming PC, then go with the PS3. Considering that the best 360 games come on PC as well.

360. I own both a PS3 and a 360, and whilst it's nice to have free Wi-Fi and Internet with the PS3, the 360's features besides that reign over it. The only reason why I'd go for a PS3 if I were you is if you have a desire to watch Blu-Rays.

Why the 360? The game selection and the dashboard. The PS3 dashboard is simply annoying and confusing, and PSN is incredibly annoying. You can't even open up your friends list in most games on the PS3, whilst you can just press the Xbox button on the 360 controller and see your profile (which also is much more advanced than PS3 profiles), your messages, your friends list and so many others. Yes, XBL might not be free...50 bucks a year for a 12 month card, but it pays off big time. It's far, FAR superior to PSN. I'd rather pay 50 bucks for something that gives quality than get something that's free that has low quality and an annoying interface.

The 360 controller is also MUCH better than the Dualshock. It's better fitting to your hands and the joysticks are very well placed to allow maximum control.

If you get a 360 Elite, you get a free HDMI cable and 120 gig hard drive. The 360 in terms of hardware might be inferior to the PS3, but in all out enjoyability and fun, the 360 is far superior. The PS3's interface is way too bland.

And finally, games.

Gears of War/Gears of War 2 (November '08)
Forza Motorsport 2
Project Gotham Racing 3/4
Dead Rising
Bioshock (though it's on the PC too)
Too Human (August '08)
Halo series
Crackdown
Mass Effect (same as Bioshock)
Ninja Gaiden II (June '08)

Any of those games are enough to get me to buy a 360, if I didn't have one. Gears of War is INCREDIBLY fun, Halo (although MP is a bit overrated) is very enjoyable and has a very interesting storyline, and PGR 4 and FM2 are incredible racers. The PS3 has some decent exclusives (Uncharted, Resistance, GT5), but not enough to reign superior over the 360's game selection.

The PS3 is a good console, don't get me wrong. But it's sort of like comparing a Supercomputer to a High-End desktop. The supercomputer might have better specs and you may be able to get to do more things with it, but the High-End desktop reigns superior for all out enjoyability rate.

Edit: Also; achievements. Achievements may seem like an assinine thing to say why the 360 is superior, but they simply make the games more enjoyable and a higher replayability rate.

Mmm, that ties in with what the ''experts'' where saying that the PS3 had better AA (as in looked cleaner) than the 360.  Though the 360 had better colour............  Though you could change the colour on your TV and sort that.

PS3- No RRoD, no overheating, free online, i believe acheivemants are coming now, better library, XBOX games are mostly war games, newer improvements to PSN.

But, on the other hand Microsoft are so rich they are so stupid. My friend(s) hack their XBOX's and send it back to get newer and better ones, and they actually do give them bigger hard drives and new consoles.

The temperature inside the system has risen too high. Check whether the system is being used in a hot location
or whether the vents are blocked. Touch the power button on the system front to stop the flashing and then leave the system unused untill it cools down. After it cools down, turn on the system again.

The games are more or less the same, although it does seem that the PS3 has some better exclusives coming out. Most are on both anyway. If anything, get the PS3 because of the blu-ray player.

wat

How do you explain Forza Motorsport 2, Ninja Gaiden II, Fable 2, Lost Odyssey, Viva Pinata, Crackdown and Blue Dragon? Sure, there's Halo, Gears of War, etc...but the Xbox live library is not "mostly war games".

I seriously love when people say that, when PS3 has games like MGS4, Killzone 2, SOCOM, Resistance 1/2, Haze, Warhawk...I could go on and on.
