I think it's a lot more fun than regular. The maps are all well thought out and fun to play, and there seem to be way less disruptive players on SF maps.
The new tools are fun to use as well.

Apart from Iron Gator worst map ever. Extremely unbalanced and very very boring. Extremely laggy too at times inside, when there are large firefights.

I lov sf I have found that ground combat is far better with it than regular bf....
i dont play special forces un less im really close to a new rank so i can get 2 weapons

IMO Special Forces is alot better than BF2. Its more infantry based than BF2. Hence thats why Strike of Karkand was so popular. Anyone can chew up infantry in a heli or tank, but it takes real skill to kill mass amounts of people as just infantry. No jets in it as well. Current patch makes the 3 night maps crash, but before the patch they worked just fine. The maps are alot smaller. Suited more towards infantry tactics instead of mindless armor/transport spamming.
It would definitely own vanilla if you could use the sf guns in it, ya know?
right now i prefer vanilla because of sharqi and karkand, but i think they should just have bf2 and sf combined like they will with euro. that would definetely make it worth it. I'm glad i got it tho, because of the unlocks, even if they arent in sf.

Special forces is great . You get to wait like 10 minutes before you can actualy join the game . But check this out ! you get to see your client data verification stand still on 63% for 7 minutes of that ten minutes .But this is good . You get plenty of time to read what your mission is even though it don't mean shit other then cap the flag over and over again . Then when you finally get into a game you can pick what class you want to be in . After 20 seconds of lag you pick a spawn point . But guess what ? You will automatically spawn as an assault class no matter what class you pick initially ! Then you get to play . You also get to lag , lag , lag and then die . This is ok because then you can actually pick what class you want to be . Finally you get to do what you want to do be it medic , special forces , assault - what ever . Just when you are kicking ass and getting all kinds of killer points you will crash due to connection loss . But that's ok , now you get to pick another server and meet new freinds ! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I bought it, and at first, I didn't enjoy it too much. Lately, I got bored with the Karkand, Sharqi, Mashtuur rota that I had fallen in love with, so I found some servers that just do Warlord. That is a really cool map, and that, plus the new unlocks, is worth the price IMHO.
I really enjoy Devil's Perch and Leviathan, too. Ghost Town is over-hyped, but maybe I've just had some bad experiences since I never got into a good squad on that map.
I can say that I am able to do fine Lone Wolfing it on stuff like Karkand and to an extent Sharqi. However, I find that Warlord requires that I find myself a good squad. In many ways I find Warlord like a hybrid of Sharqi and Mashtuur.
I'd say "buy it."
