So, I was playing some Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas last night, and my computer locked up, with looping sound...
Did a hard reboot, no BSOD.
Then, later, I tried to play some BF2 with a clanmate, and I was having some weird random lag that was not normal, and that I have never had. Also, the sandbags became metallic...
Rebooted normally, no lock up.
Rejoined, and game locked up with looping sound... again.
Rebooted manually.
Game now lags like fuck when I turn the gun around, and lags when I get into confrontations.
I've been playing BF2 on high with 4AA for a while without this lag, until it locked up after GTA:SA.
Don't give me the fucking bullshit to turn my settings down, and say that my computer can't handle it at these settings, because it perfectly did so until the crash.
My setup is, pasted from my Xfire profile:
Manufacturer: Dell XPS 400 (Modified, as you can tell.)
Processor: Prescott Intel Pentium 4 540 3.20GHz HyperThreading
Memory: 2GB Kingston DDR2 667Mhz - Dual Channel (2x1GB)
Hard Drive: Western Digital 250 GB
Video Card: EVGA GeForce 7600GT (175.16 drivers.)
Sound Card: Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit
Operating System: Windows XP Home SP3
Help is highly appreciated...
I am currently reinstalling the latest drivers for my 7600GT.
