Mmm, apparantly the card is mostly ready (something about a heating problem is fumbling them a bit), but the drivers are no where near, which to be fair is understandable. I'd like to see it mid to late july though, since, they are of the impression they are going to beat the 280 GTX with it.haffeysucks wrote:

If I was ATI I would want to take Nvidias crown from there new card off them as soon as and rip them accordingly. They even have the ace up there sleve that it is going to be very difficult for Nvidia to do a dual version 280 GTX (two 236W GPUs sandwhiched together.......). All they would have is a silly money Ultra possibly with 256 SP vs 240 in the GTX. Or get a move on with there 55nm process development. Think this is where ATi's ground work while there where in the dirt could come up trumps.

nice to see heatpipe on the cooler again. and X2 cooler is fairly normal size which means decent noise levels.

I think ill be buying one of these new cards to replace my x1950pro tbh
Radeon HD 4870 X2 is 27 cm long
it is also too expensive for me, and coming out too late, hence the rig changes VVVVV

I'll post my BIOS and Everest pics. But i have to say going from P5E BIOS to Rampage Formula BIOS was the best thing ever. I lowered my vcore from 1.39 to 1.37. Will lower it some more to see to where it can go.haffeysucks wrote:

Whats the design difference with the 3850 with the exception that the fan has more fins?
