Speach errors are common.  IF we had quotes of all your errors, you'd look bad too.

Realistically, i'll take a suttering, mumbling Genius over an articulate moron.

NOTE: I am not calling Obama a Genius, and I am not calling Bush Articulate, but you get what I mean.

There are some quotes that raise an eyebrow.  But every candidate has some of those.  It's best to look at the bigger picture, rather than  at just vote leeching quotes that all candidates are  guilty of saying.

The way I see it, it's pretty simple. The democrat MO is to label republicans as old, incompetent, cynical and out of touch, while the republican MO is to label democrats as moany and unrealistic sissies. The more you fit the label, the more negative attention you get. The people who judge the abilities of politicians on things as petty as these are typically unable to independently deviate from the labels they've learned to identify and apply, and for this reason, the "uncharactaristic" slip-ups don't get as much attention.

Dang, there's a WIKI for him.  Must be true.  He must not want guns since as an Illinois legislator, he voted along with his state those things.  Nevermind his other remarks in more recent times, when appealing to the country, that he acknowledges the 2nd amendment rights of Americans and how he won't infringe it.  Hell, even Hillary agreed with that.

Mit Romney in MA as governor vs. Mit Romney as US presidential candidate?  Difference in most of his views?  Yes.  Is it wrong or bad?  Not necessarily.  He governed according to his constituents.

McCain?  Nevermind, he's flip flopped on nearly everything he stands for so he's no good to compare with.

Howz about the Republicans/Neocons at the time of the Schiavo days...the party that errs on the side of LIFE!  THe party that ran the whole country for 6 years, who were carried largely by the christian coalition voters because abortion HAD TO END!!!  Guess what...Roe v Wade still lives and NOTHING was even done to reverse it.  Should I assume Republicans like abortion because they didn't do jack about it during their 12 year congressional reign and their 6 year "3-branch" reign?  No.  But I can assume that they are just pandering to the christian voters not really living what they preach.  So why then would I decide that Obama is going to take my guns away from me because of voting he did as an Illinois legislator or senator?  Especially when he's contradicted those votes with new positions on honoring the 2A.

Yeah true.  I think that alot of the attempted Obama bashing is a little pointless andunconstructive, with the majority of it being politically motivated jabs towards the rival party's candidate.

I do also think Obama is a bit revered by some like some great golden boy of salvation.  More to a degree than most past candidates haven't shared since I can remember of other elections.

It's best to look past the heralding, or petty insulting, and try to focus on the Issues that are factual and relevant to thier future as a possible President.

IF the various camps for candidates weren't so busy shit slinging, maybe we could actually learn something RELEVANT as to who they are, and what they want as President.  But that doesn't get the attention of the people.  Controversy and shit talking does.

So, until the country changes what grabs thier interest; every politician will cater to the eyes and ears of the people, and what grabs thier attention.

True, but there are degrees.

A slip up is one thing, but embellishing starts to border on lying at times. For example Hillary and her "sniper fire" comment...It was just false, and people usually remember something like being in mortal danger.

Obama saying it was his uncle and not his great uncle, and getting the concentration camp wrong, is more of an understandable screwup.. although it was almost painful to watch the footage of him saying it, and news commentators saying "uhhh, Auschwitz ??"

And again lets not look at his voting record since he was doing what the people wanted.  Bullshit.  Both B. Obama and H. Clinton will say that they agree with the second amendment and will not infringe on our rights but they also don't feel like anything they do would be infringing on our rights, that would be common sense gun control right.  They both know that if they come out and take a stance against the second amendment they will loose come November, but once they are in the White House they can do as they please.  Obama is for the individual right to bare arms about as much as he is a Muslim

18 months on the campaign trail with every word spoken recorded. He is doing better than most. Let me know if anyone needs a refresher course on political gaffe's and slipups. McCain has had his senior moments. Hillary.. she's good as long as she can dodge the phantom sniper fire and inconsiderate assassination remarks.

Yea it is, but that's part of the game and B.O.'s not exempt.  Or why is he?

It would be, but there is little to Obama other than .... change ....  Fact is that most of his ideas are light years way too left for me and would cost the average US citizen way too much financially and constitutionally. If the rest of the US woke up and saw that, the US'd be a bit better off.

"So, until the country ...." Yea I'm there too.

Do you really think Obama or the Democrats would strip your right to gun ownership?  Think about it.  These people want to stay in office, not get kicked out.  Gun control is one thing, but they aren't going to take your guns away.  Jesus...  way to go for becoming a stereotype.  "Clinging" to guns, much?

I think people forget the name of the game here. Once the Democratic primary is completely wrapped up you will see both candidates move more towards the center. McCain has already made the move. (dumping on the religious right)

Taking it too literally. Candidates will say what the public wants to hear, and then when inauguration time comes, unexpected changes will happen.

I can assure you that, if the Democrats pass some drastic gun control measure, they will most likely lose many seats in Congress.  Anything's possible, but there are just some things you don't touch.

Conservative in terms of the label...not necessarily in terms of actions. Labels don't really reflect reality in politics today. Just look at Britain where the left and the right have effectively switched sides.

If I had just said Republican in my initial post it would have been a lot simpler...slaps forehead!
I think it doesn't even matter what Bush was (Liberal or conservative) Just the fact that he is so despised by everyone for his stupidity persuades most votors to vote for the other party. I bet if bush was liberal then McCain would easily be or next president .
