bf2 CTD ON LOGIN SCREEN ?

not found this error elsewhere, but my mate is trying to play bf2 on his tele, via hdmi - dvi - vga

he gets the bf2 splash screen, and all the movies, and the login screen.

when he logs in, it CTD's

any ideas what causing the problem and how to fix it ?

hes running an upto date PC with an x1300 gfx and vista 32bit, running bf2 as admin mode.

tv has a different refresh rate than his old monitor. I had the same problem recently. He needs to go into his documents, then bf2, then profiles, then each folder and change the refresh rate in the video.con file. Should do the trick.

note: it tries to connect to EA before it crashes...

hrm, weird. Mine did the same thing as soon it started. I then set the default profile back to 60hz. Then I could at least get it to start up to the log in screen. Once there and trying to connect it would CTD again. Found I had to go and set all video.con files to 60hz to get them to log in as I wasn't sure which folder was which screen name.

Sorry I wasn't more help, but you might also want to make sure that the display size is supported.

ok we tried running in window mode, its 1.41 but says otherwise
