I have an ASUS P5N-E SLI 650i Nforce mobo and a Evga 8800GT 512Mb card

I noticed last night when I went into the bios that my "graphical interface card" was set to PCI and not PCI-E

I wanted to ask you guys if it matters what that is set to

I don't know how it matters, But I would put it to PCI-E anyway...
It's not there for fun.

That is probably a setting that tells the system which location is your primary video card, assuming that you might have multiple video cards.  If you have video cards in both PCI and PCI-E slots, then it would put your primary video on the card that is in the PCI slot.

Since you probably do not have multiple video cards, the system just defaults to your PCI-E installed card.

It shouldn't mess up your system, It will (what I think it does) maybe give a performance boost for your GPU? but I HIGHLY doubt it will mess up your system if you don't touch anything else.

EDIT: Or what OH said.

I only have one card installed and I am guessing but both of my slots should be PCI-E

I will switch it tonight if you guys think it wont mess anything up

The blue and black slots are PCI-E 16x, the small white is PCI-E 1x and the long whites are PCI.

EDIT: It won't mess up anything.

I think hes asking if he can leave his BIOS settings set to "pci" in video card settings or should he change it to"pci-e" since his using a pci-e card.

my card is plugged into the black slot so it is PCI-E 16x but my bios is set to PCI

I will change it to PCI-E tonight
