I just bought a SONY NEC 20X  OPTIARC IDE MODEL AD-7200A-0B

Using Nero 6 ultra when I burn a cd or dvd it says that it completed successfully but when I try to view the stuff on the disc to make sure it did work, the only thing that shows up on the disc is a .cda file that is like 1KB in size.

The burner also stays on after the burn is done and will not open or shutoff unless I reboot.

anyone know what I am doing wrong ?

would the new version of the firmware for the burner fix this or did I just buy a crappy burner?

thank you for any replies

first, why did you get IDE?

second, are you sure you're trying to write a supported image file?

Perhaps because IDE drives are plentiful in stores, where as SATA arent?(maybe 4 models out of around 30 at my local pc store), that and alot of people still use IDE.

Id suggest trying a different burning program, to make sure its not jsu the prgram acting up, had that issue in the past.

i bought an ide model because the computer i am putting it into is old and does not support sata

i have tried two different versions of nero and have the same problem

why would 4.4 GB of AVI files show up only as only one CDA file that is 1KB?
