my buddy just got a sound blaster audigy se. when he plays bf2, the voices like echo and skip/repeat, but all the other sounds are fine. we got the newest drivers.
He has vista?
main battle tank karthus medikopter 117 megamegapowershot gg
change the hardware acceleration for his sound, if its high make it low and if its low make it high.
If he has vista then google daniel_k, his drivers will sort things out

xp pro. all the other sounds (gunfire, youtube, etc.) work fine. just the like enemy infantry spotted/lost control of an outpost fucks up. reinstall bf2?
Make sure the sound settings have it configured to "hardware" (in Battlefield 2) Try running a few less sounds to see if that helps.
I have the same problem, there is no fix for this. Believe me, I spent months looking.

Reinstall the audio drivers a couple of times. I've got a Live! card, based on the same audio processor as the Audigys, and that tends to work when I get that issue.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Change the audio settings to software - medium. Had same problem with my old sound card and bought a X-Fi ExtremeMusic
