I'm glad he left his church, but I have a feeling this is foreshadowing for a McCain victory.

The Democrats are notoriously good at losing presidential elections.  They tend to make up for it when it comes to House and Senate elections though.

EDIT: As a side note, Bob Barr may still become McCain's version of Nader in this election, so there's still hope.

True, but debates don't matter as much as they probably should.

I have a feeling Bob Barr may become Obama's greatest asset because of his appeal to social conservatives though.

I'm going to have to agree with that. Considering McCain got owned in nearly every GOP debate. At one point he was even booed.

I have a feeling Obama/McCain debates will look very similiar to the Kennedy/Nixon debate.  On one side a young, energetic Obama, on the other, an old, haggard McCain.

If Barr is allowed to debate with Obama and McCain, will the conservatives complain that the liberal media is purposely trying to split up the conservative vote?

I am sorry, when did it come to pass where a presidential candidates associations, involvements, etc....... are not fair game for scrutinization? Or is it now so, for Obama and Obama only, because he is black and therefore exempt from such queries?
Of course they are subject to scrutiny. As I've said before there is no such thing as a perfect candidate. It's obvious to me that when there is nothing real to attack a person with that the next logical step is to go after the people around him and claim that's who they are as well. The man is serving this country as a United States Senator and running for the Presidency and we are supposed to believe he has got some deep hidden hate for the US? Doesn't make sense.
Based on that logic, the Clintons, and GW also have a love of country, yet they are all beat to death.

As much as I dislike some of their politics I don't think any of them truly "hate" their country. lowing we just have different things that we look at when judging candidates. Everyone has different things that matter more than others. I accept that.

For me personally, the debates will be huge. 
 
Mainly because I am a wishy washy undecided guy right now.
Debates  will serve to cement things

I suppose I am actually a  'disaffected' voter in a sense; I am a registered independent, in a red state. My state will go McCain, no matter what I decide about Obama.

(state being Nebraska btw, and though we do have some fairly moderate repubs here, and a lot of dems, it's just traditionally always gone R in the general elections)
