I just tried to open up my shared folder with my computer downstairs to get pictures from the RAF Airshow yesterday. I open up the Airshow folder, and i get a DEP message saying i need to close it. So i looked at the error deatails and it said: C:\DOCUME~1\Andrew\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERd027.dir00\explorer.exe.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Andrew\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERd027.dir00\appcompat.txt

Ok... so what do i do? Is this my temp folder? Have i got a virus? Do i do an AV scan?

Cntrl+Alt+Del - Make sure no random things are running which shouldn't.
Do a Scan.
If nothing: Reboot and check back.

Those are temp files used when you open a file.  No virus is associated with that.  Wrong directory perhaps?

Thanks, nothing was running in the ctrl alt del thing that i didn't do. I'll do a restart in a bit when i go then.

Oh wait, yesterday my spyware scan found one thing and quarantined it, but i deleted it. This wouldn't have anything to do with it would it?

^ Just edit your post please, lol.

It sounds like a folder issue more so than a virus. Can you open the files on another computer?

Yep, just that folder

I can open other folders, so its just a simple matter of deleting that folder and replacing it?

I'm surprised kyle didn't suggest Safe Mode.    Try that.

Those files just seem like Vista error reporting files... (appcompat)

I wouldn't worry about it.
