I have to do a 10 minute oral presentation on Thursday this week for English class. I have to relate it to the book I read for my independant study unit (The Road by Cormac McCarthy). I was thinking of focusing on the theme "surviving a nuclear disaster".

So far I've got information about the Nucear reactor explosion in Chernobyl. Are there any other notable nuclear disasters in history that I could talk about? Other than Hiroshima/Nagasaki.

Check this out:  Civilian Nuclear Accidents

Also, here.
The worst nuclear accident in history is the Chernobyl disaster. Other examples of serious accidents include the Three Mile Island accident, the Windscale fire, the SL-1 accident, and the Mayak accident.

You're supposed to relate to surviving a nuclear disaster?

lol, TMI a 'serious' accident. Nevermind that more people died in car accidents than from that meltdown that year.

It was a serious accident, half of the plant went into meltdown.

It doesn't need deaths and explosions to be serious.

It doesn't matter what the presentation is about, as long as I can relate it to the book I read. (not relate it to myself)

Drop your pants and begin reciting your lines...works for me.

lol. I was looking up pictures to put in the PowerPoint presentation at school today and I wondered why so many of them looked like CoD4. Then I remembered the All Ghillied up mission is based in Chernobyl. The screenshots from the game are pretty darn photo realistic if you ask me.

Dude if you show Chernobyl pictures it is a requirement to slip CoD4 screen shots in somewhere.
