So i've found this pretty cool website that tracks up to three of your usb devices if they get into the wrong hands. Its really good as it shows where abouts on google maps where it is, the name of the machine where it is on etc...

Just sign up to get started, you can even print off a report, ready to hand in to the police and it even sends you an email when the device has been plugged in elsewhere.

Have fun

Yar, I was going to download that because it sounds great, but once I heard the "using the iPod as a hard drive" part, I :(ed.  (iPod Touch owner)

Well, I guess the laser engraving of my name and number on the back will have to do.  Hopefully if I ever lose this, whoever finds it is an honest person.

Problem; my Zen vision M doesn't show up as a hard drive and thus doesn't have a Letter ... so when the software needs me to identify it by it's letter it doesn't have one .. halp pl0x!

To be honest, unless you are doing a lot of transferring I wouldn't worry about using your iPod as a drive. I have had my iPod Video for...almost 3 years now, and I have used it as an external hard drive (for large and small files) and everything is still okay. It's a little bit slow at responding sometimes now (ie a second) but that's because it has had heavy heavy heavy use.

I'm not worried about that.  I used my Mini as a HD.  The thing is, they disabled using the iPod Touch as a HD.
