Indeed. Problem though is that apparantly the 4870 wont ship till july due to lack of GDDR5 chips being availiable. The GDDR3 4850 will release as expected on the 16/18th, but no sing of a 4870 (atleast at the latest rumours).haffeysucks wrote:

I wouldnt worry about GDDR4, if anything it is good buissiness practise from Nvidia not to use it, and better for the consumer. It gives little benifit over GDDR3 and costs significantly more, plus the chip shortage would of been similar to what will happen with the 4870 (atleast to begin with). Nvidia wants both there cards out in good supply on launch day, they even said that themselfs.
Besides, can you imagen, a 512bit card with GDDR5 it explode because of its awsomeness!.
