That's defiantly the step in the right direction. We only need more, cause it will no sooner than 2012 before this plant is operational and pumping refined hydrocarbons into our pipelines. Im paying $3.89 a gal or $54.00 to fill up my 21 year old Mazda

Apparently, there's some oil in the dakotas, with new technology, it's now feasible to retrieve it.

One obscure article... but a little ray of hope is nice.

Even if it happens the price of gas in Dakota will go down the most and very little in the rest of the US. For some reason I think gas companies see this as even greater profit since they will lower the price a few cents every week or 2 weeks as their production costs plummet for the period of time the oil is available.

I don't know about this regional distribution business. There is literally a refinery within 25 miles of where I live and within eyesight of Chicago but prices are still above the national average here.
