Is this a good gaming performance processor?

I have been told that AMD is not good for computers that stay on for the whole day and night...(So Intel is better. That's what I've been told.)

AMD Phenom™ X4 9500 quad-core processor ( 4x 2.2 GHz )
Geforce 9500GT 256mb graphiccard.
3072GB RAM (I thought it was 667Mhz)
500GB harddisk 7200Rpm

It's ok, but Intel's CPU's are more powerful and priced similarly. There's no real reason to go with AMD at the moment.

I don't know who's been telling you AMD is bad for having your computer on overnight, but I've never had a problem leaving my computer on for extended periods of time. (3200+ cpu in mine)

Ghettoperson is right too, as much as I hate to admit it, Intel has the better performance at the moment. (Regardless, I'm still buying AMD when I upgrade next year)

AMD Phenom™ X4 9450 or 9550 quad-core processor ( 4x 2.2 GHz )  the b3 version fixed the reliability issue of the b2
Geforce 9600GT 512mb graphics card. 9500gt does not exist
2gb or 4GB RAM 800mhz    Its faster than 667, more readily available/ cheaper, it is better to have ram sticks in pairs of the same size, and is currently standard for majority of processors and motherboards
500GB harddisk 7200Rpm  make sure its from a reliable company

700€... But my dad will only buy a computer that is pre-build... I also don't see the strategic moves here , but Oh well, it's better than my current computer.

9500 -> 9600GT. The CPU is ok, but I'd go with a dual for gaming.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. A Fast Dual core is better than a decent Quad Core.
And the  9500 isn't really optimal for gaming. A 9600 would be better.

And the  9600 isn't really optimal for gaming. A 9600 would be better.

BF2, yes, but I wouldn't count on much AA. I doubt CoD4 will run at more than medium settings. 9500GT = 8600GT.

Regardless, have fun spending countless hours deleting the useless shit they preload onto your HDD.  Gigs of trial software that you'll never use.

If you do, however, have to purchase a pre-built, think about buying a cheaper one, and then adding on, or completely revamping it.  Get a pre-built, buy a nice case to transfer the components to, and then buy mods from there.

Do you have any experience in building computers?  Sometimes buying a pre-built is less of a headache, to others building a better PC for a cheaper price seems like the way to go.

But not if you can't install it yourself?
If you have to let it install, then you have to pay the hours the person is working, the travelling to my house...
But ofcourse , a pre-build isn't worth asmuch as a selfmade one...
