Hello,

Does anyone have or used this card for battlefield2 ? Im thinking of buying it today at a local store
and I heard it's pretty good , but I dont know the exact details if it runs all high or medium to high.

The specs for this card are ..

ATI X1650 Pro 8X 512mb .
                                                                        thx.

Do you live in the states? If so we may be able to find you a better deal. Also don't hear about technology read about it. Whats the rest of your computer specs?

I have it installed in my Bro-in laws pc, runs BF2 just fine on medium high settings, without any notciable slowdown, however I never did an FPS check, so I cant give those stats.

Just re-read your post, appears your using AGP, in that case I cant atest to performence, the one Ive worked with is PCI-E

I had the 256MB version of that same card, paired with a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 and 2GB of RAM and it played on medium everything with high textures at 1152x864, no AA.

Btw, this might go better in the tech section.

X1650 Pro here, All medium and max resolution and 4x AA. I don't know the frames per second but there is a lot of image tearing most of the time.

X1650 would do but i would get something along the lines of a 7800gs for bf2, especially if you have an agp mobo.

I've got it on my old computer. It'll have to all be on low I'm afraid.

Yeah, you can't really do much with an AGP graphics card these days, so unless you are able to upgrade your motherboard (and most likely RAM), then you'll be stuck with the shitty graphics

My AGP video card handles BF2 on mostly highs just fine.

Processor also makes a difference. In my old computer, the shitty AMD Sempron 3000+ makes the map load times take a couple minutes, but more importantly, I can't play on servers with more than 16-20 people.

However there are some decent AGP cards out there. I have a friend who plays everything on mediums and highs just fine.

Exactamundo. The performance of a PC is defined by much more than what flavour of graphics expansion slot it uses.

Nevermind guys , Thanks for all the comments , Figures out that the guy at the computer shop made a mistake and he has the same case as my computer and thought it was a AGP ... It's PCI so for 20 $ more I just bought the e-GeForce 8600 GT it runs bf2 all high and smoothly with fraps recording around 25 FPS  ! I recommend this card for maxed out.

Not the best card out there, but for your price range I guess you're set.

For his price range, it is a great card.

About a month or two ago, I updated from a 9600XT 256MB to the X1650 Pro 512MB. I can play BF2game at all max settings at a decent screen resolution. Not all the way like 1600x1200 but the 1152x864 or 1200x800(?). The replacement made huge improvement in the game. Minor lag at times but the game looks much better. I have an Asus board with a AMD XP2600+ and 1.5GB of RAM. Older rig but it does work well. I have the one made by Sapphire. Oh, it will play at 1600x1200 at max settings but heavy screen action will cause some bogging.

It is not unlocked (XT notation?).  However, if you download ATI Tray Tools or Rivatuner, you can overclock the GPU and RAM (at your own risk). My GPU is at 594 MHz and the DDR is 796 MHz (that is the doubled rate btw). Temperatures seem to run hot but I have not had any lock-up probs due to heat. The GPU may push 90°C under load. All in all, I am very pleased with the card. I only paid $70 from newegg.com.

Hope that helps.
