sup guys

ok so a few days ago i registered for that ihound shiz and downloaded the installer for my creative zen. long story short it wouldn't install on my zen and if i remember correctly i some how ended up installing the ihound stuff on my main C drive. Since this my C drive in my computer shows up as "USB Device" with no icon. But it is still under the Hard Drives section and all files remain intact etc.

How can I change it back?

cheers.

With Acronis disk director you can assign/change drive letters.

Check if there is a Desktop.ini on the harddrive root.

If so, delete it. (I have none, so you should be safe)

and when i double click it;

I can still use the adress bar to navigate around though ..

I removed a "desktop.ini" file from within the Windows folder .. but that doesn't seem to have done anything

the desktop.ini file just stores the view settings for the folder you are looking at.  all folders on your harddrive have one, and its a hidden file so you might not see it.  anyway, it has nothing to do with your problem.

like i said before, this seems kind of bad.  what do you get if you right-click the c: drive and choose properties?

are you familiar with the device manager?  i would try to "update driver" and see if it restores it back to what it should be...

Ok i'll have it auto update the driver of the HD and see if it works. cheers steelie.

edit : all it does is say no drivers found, thus the drive remains unchanged. How about flashing the BIOS? Possibly updating the IDE controller and renaming the drive in the process?

Any other ways I can fix this? I really don't want to have to reformat
