How do I move from one slide to the next. I honestly can't figure it out for my life.
I want to do it with timing, not clicking.

I have 2007.
I have a picture, a few words that fade in, plus a song, but after all the words come up, nothing happens, it won't go to the next slide.

I have advance automatically after 11 seconds, but i count to 11 and it won't change.
It works if I click on the screen, but I want it to do it automatically.

It works fine for me.

If I set the time to 3 seconds, untick 'on mouse' click and view the show: The slide changes after 3 seconds.

Is this ticked:

Ok, well I tried it without music and it switched after the time I wanted it to, but once I added a sound file, it would not advance. How do I fix this?

I don't know to be honest. If I do what you've described it works fine.

I assume it's something to do with the audio file not finishing in time for the slide to change ... or something. Not sure really.

I've seen tons of PowerPoints with music that runs the entire length of the show with no problems, and the slides switch with a time delay.
Thanks though Liq.

Why dont you play the song in another program in the background?

Good idea, I guess
I might just have to do the rehearse timing option. Make the entire slideshow, then click next when I want it to change, and save it.
I actually got it to switch slides once with the music still playing, but then I tried it again and it wouldn't work.

You need something like this so you can walk around and still be able to change slides when you want to.

I usually just use a wireless mouse if I want to do that. I just remember to stay within range.

Does anyone know how to make this work?

I'm not 100% on 2007, but if you look at the action setting on the audio file on my version there are some options including stuff like:
- Loop until user interrupts
- play entire file
etc

have a fiddle with these, it may be waiting for your interrution because the audio is too long.

Does it ever change slide I.e. when the audio has finised?
- if not, the audio may be looping
Can you cut the audio file size down?
Do you want the audio to continue onto subsequent slides?

Maybe....

Make sure the song isnt chosen to be played on click (Play automatically).
