Know, overlooking the ranking system ... I don't see Veteran (silver) badges as requirements for *anything*!
In my opinion ... the 2 lower general ranks (1, 2) should require the silver badges at the least.
Brigadier General (1 star) - should be all the combat veteran badges (support, engineer, sniper, assault, medic, first aid, explosives, knife, pistol, etc).
Major General (2 stars) - should be all the vehicle/support veteran badges (Command, AA,Ground Def, tank, air, transport, etc).
Then have 3 and 4 stars require all Expert.
Sound like an idea? Wish DICE/EA would listen

But, really. The silver veteran badges *are* somewhat of an achievement - and should be recognized. As the rank system is now - they're just tossed in the "Meh, whatever." - At least make them a requirement for *SOMETHING* or just toss them altogether!
