Hard to explain, but when i plug in my speakers to the ports in the back then i get this echo that i cant get rid of, ive tried headphones and other speakers and it doesnt work. My usb headphones work fine but my speakers just echo. It must be something to do with the ports.

Any ideas?

Maybe they are to close to magnets or maybe the PC is. You hear echo without listening to a media player right?

If your microphone is not muted in the sound panel (it still works when muted, but you won't hear feedback from it yourself), then it might be causing the speakers to echo

Try any jacks you may have in the front, this happened to me once and i thought i'd busted a cable.

Then one day i tried it thru the front jacks.

I know it's a bit of a stop-gap solution, but i also know how annoying it is without sound!

I never hooked up my front jacks, missing a cable, Haffey would know

What do you mean by an "echo"?

Do you have a surround set-up?

Does it still do it if you unplug all but your front left/right speakers?

Yeh you'll need whatever cable ive got, one "green jack" end, to a RYW end. Usefull as hell, not just for PC but for anything audio.

If you cant get a solution from here, i'd recommend buying one to use in the front of your PC for the time being!

Its hard to explain, not really an echo, more like reverb is on if you know what im saying.

No surround

It wont echo when my speakers are unplugged, it had to do with those jacks, im sure of it

So, just the two stereo speakers then?

hmm... not what I thought it might be... if that's the case.

Said as non contemptuously as possible: I googled "reverb in computer speakers."

Its possible one of the cables is defected, if you can try using different cables?
