http://www.star-telegram.com/189/story/688574.html"The gas was pouring out of the gas tank almost as fast as it was going in," said Perkins, who lives in Waxahachie. "There was a hole in it. And I started to wonder if my gas was stolen."
She was right: Someone drilled a hole in the truck's plastic gas tank and drained it.
I should convert my car engines to use some sort of ultra-volatile substance. That way, if someone tries to drill a hole... KABOOM
you mean something like gasoline?HurricaИe wrote:

Yes because thats just a brilliant idea.HurricaИe wrote:

I knew this was going to happen at some point.
Thats why the gas tank is made or a type of plastics material so things like that wouldnt happen.HurricaИe wrote:

Thats nothing, over here, some guy pulled up in one of those box trailers used for landscaping, parked at a gas station for over an hour and no one knew why.
Eventully they opened up the trailer to find a guy with his own gas pump, a hole in the floor, a 250 gallon tank and several smaller ones pumping gas straight from the storage tank which he somehow smashed open. Now thats creative.

Hmm, cause they couldn't see the bigass hose dangling out the bottom eh?r2zoo wrote:

volatile just means that it vaporizes easily...
liquid nitrogen is extremely volatile at room temperature, but it isn't particularly explosive
well
it is i guess, but not in that way

it's obviously not volatile enough if people are drilling tanksargo4 wrote:

The tanks are plastic so any impact (or drilling in this case) wouldn't cause a spark.HurricaИe wrote:

you can drill a hole in a metal tank without it exploding as long as you drill into the fuel as opposed to drilling above the fuel line where there will be vapors. the vapors ignite not the fuel itself. although im not prepared to test this as shit happens >) I did have a similar experience. I was under a car that my old boss was welding with an old style arc welder. he hit the tank with it! sparks flew and I thought it was the end for sure. I opened my eyes to see a small stream of gas shooting out from the bottom. no fire!
Fucking hell...Christbane wrote:

Did you have a go at him?
Time to upgrade to a diamond carbide gas tank.
You can smash the tanks with a hammer and a screw driver. I saw it done one day at the scrap yard by an 8 year old kid...
How many people pay attention at the gas pumps? To busy watching the meter chug up , and thinking about how [insert scapegoat here] is responsible for gas pricesCrazeD wrote:

To be honest, seeing a landscaping truck parked at a gas station isn't anything special in my area, and given where the storage input is usually located its away from the main pumps, so nothing to out of the ordinary. Thats still the most intelligent idea of heard of in a long while to get gas like that. My question is where did he get a gas pump from
The thief should of plugged the hole so he or she can refill @ a later date and no one would of been any wiser. Not that, I am implying I do this kind of stuff....no...not me...urrr um..
Then go back and drain the tank again?loubot wrote:
