quick speedfan question

just downloaded speedfan, and in looking at the temperatures, I have no clue which temp reading goes to which PC component

heres a screen shot of the readings:

can someone tell me which reading goes to my
GPU
CPU
RAM

Ram usually doesn't have a temp sensor.

GPU, you can use riva tuner to find the temp, and compare it to what speedfan is using

CPU, run a cpu intensive program such as Orthos, Prime95, or SuperPi and note which temp goes up.

Yep. You've just gotta experiment and guess.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. Those change from computer to computer. My Temp 2 is my CPU, for example.

OK I just overclocked my processor and ran superpi. an error message comes up saying "not convergent in sqr05" and it will not calculate. I am not trying to run two instances of this program. My temperatures are all good and my system seems stable at the moment... anybody know whats up?

Your CPU is unstable. Duh. Just because it can boot to Windows doesn't mean it's stable. More VCore.

Why superpi? it's a benchmarking program, not a stability test.

run orthos or prime95.

I'm up to 2.9GHz on my 2.6Ghz stock fx-55, gonna see if i can get it to three on stock cooling

i'll send you Everest if you add me on Xfire, but you have to promise me you'll get that CPU over 3 GHz. that's a pretty sad OC. and you also have to promise to use orthos or prime95 for stability testing.
