This is not the military. All of us should not suffer from the actions of few. And especially this drastically.
All, and I mean ALL gaming sites that I go to have an off topic section. They would simply be boring if all they talked about were games. People would slowly leave trackr. We are a community. If we can't talk about things happening in our life and whatnot and current non-serious events in the world, it will simply be a boring site to go on
Says you, who has zero influence over the site. Chuy makes the rules, and so help me if you tards can't keep it together enough to let us have a less serious section I will hunt every one of you down.
In short, if you cannot contain yourself to very liberal limits of spam then leave, because the rest of us like the limits where they are.
And you wonder why people spam or break the rules? It's that condescending attitude right there when I posted a very logical and sensible opinion that makes people have lower opinions of the mods and not respect their authority.

There. I did it. I absolutely could not care less what a single one of you thinks of me at this point, because of the point so many of you have driven to. You are killing my BF2S. I love this site, I throughly enjoy the information, the laughs, and the wonderful time wasting ability it has, and you guys are taking that away from me. It's not fair, but there isn't very much I as an individual can do about it anymore, so instead I'll whine to you about how unfair it is.
The rules are very simple. Apart from some technical ones about sigs and such, you don't post crap, you play nice, and you're fine. It's really not that hard, but still I (and the rest of the wonderful administrative team) have to tell people things that should be common sense. I don't enjoy telling people they're doing something wrong, or arguing with them about why they got a warning for this or that, or why they didn't deserve their third temp ban, whatever. It's not fun, I don't go whack off to their dismay afterwards. Yet still I like to think that it's worth it, because in the end the site benefits, more people enjoy being here, and it is a place I can call home on the internet for a longer period of time.
"What's this, we might not have a valued section in trackr if people don't grow up a little bit?" I say to myself, "Well, surely if we crack down a little more and drop
lots and
lots and
lots of hints, they'll get the idea and be reasonable about it! BF2S is great that way!"
Well apparently not. You think you can argue it, you think that you have vastly superior logic that will overwrite all the past mis-deeds, you think your rhetoric will win the day. (because it has always worked before here
) Here's a novel idea:
The best thing you can do right now to ensure your valued section is to cut spam and listen when people (moderator or not) tell you to stop - arguing will do nothing but make things worse. This is not your community, this is chuy's community. Many of us are quite happy with that, and are just fine following his rules. Now the rest of you are trying to take the direction of the site into your own hands just because you think you
own it or something just because you've been here for a few years, and you're taking it in a direction the real owner doesn't want it to go. Well, guess who is going to win that tug-o-war.
I think this is the first time I can remember actually being mad at this site. I've been appalled, disgusted, etc. at some things most of you don't know about it, but this time I'm actually angry because we're asking for so little and there is so much at stake for a wonderful place for me to go for the past two years, and that's just too much for some of you. It's not like we gave you an inch and you're taking a mile...we gave you 9/10ths of a mile and you just won't settle until you get everything you want.
and ig is right
edit: you are so wrong about this site. So, so wrong. It is a complete dictatorship. Feature Requests is a creative brainstorming ground, just because something is posted there does not mean it will happen. Mods do not have any sort of definitive say in it either.
You know what? That's not so bad. chuy (in my opinion) has a very good social sense, and has successfully directed this site that was originally based only around BF2 stats to a successful community. Of course the members are a big part of that success, but without not only the web dev foundation he has provided, but also the social outline he gives has taken us this far. Trust him to take us the rest of the way to trackr eh?
edit2: Docta is right, he is benevolent ruler. A dictator
can take advice from whoever he wants, he just doesn't have to. Same with chuy. He doesn't
have to listen to any of us, but he does because he's awsm like that. Just because we end up getting our ideas implemented does not mean we had the power to have them implemented.
