  • Would it be worth me making these alterations to my pc.

At the moment I just use
2 x 12cm stock fans
1 x 8cm stock fan
1 x EVGA 8800GTS (640mb) stock cooler
1 x AMD AM2 stock cooler
1 x ebuyer extra value power supply with its stock 12cm fan) I can't actually fault the PSU considering it was £25 and it works nicely
those cooling fans work, thats about all I know about their quality.

So

Would it be worthwhile changing all the stock 12cm fans (including the PSU's if its simple to do so (i built this pc so i'm not a complete tech nooby) to these http://www.ebuyer.com:80/product/105137 … t_overview so I would have 3 of them instead.

changing the stock 8cm fan to a http://www.ebuyer.com:80/product/116274

and possibly changing my stock GPU cooler to a http://www.ebuyer.com:80/product/139517

NB: at this moment in time I can't be bothered changing my CPU fan as a decent one costs too much (if I were to get that as well as this lot)

Speedfan says
my system temp (during internet browsing is) 33 degrees C
cpu is 50 c
AUX is 47c
ambient is somehow -1c which is just plain wrong seeing as its actually about 13c
remote 1 (not sure what that is though) is 96 c
remote 2 is 2c
HD is 31c
core is 41c
core is 59c
all fluctuate by a degree or two.

Altogether if I did all of that it would cost me £43, so i ask you BF2s, would I really notice it and do you think I should really bother to do it?

ty in advance

Well, Hiper aren't exactly known for making the best quality products out there. For good budget fans, I recommend Glacialtech. If you are happy with the noise your system is making, there's no real need to change case and PSU fans. To improve temps, it's the CPU cooler and other heatsinks you want to change.

Also, that thing you thought of for the graphics card, it's just a RAM heatsink. You need a VF1000 for it.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

http://www.ebuyer.com:80/product/139509 Ahh found it, ignore the RAM cooler then I would just get that instead.

I'd go with Antec then as i know they're a decent PSU make at least

Better?

It might improve case airflow (depending on your current case fans), but, it won't really lower temps by much. You need a good CPU heatsink. Something like a Zalman CNPS9500/9700, Thermalright ULTRA 120/Extreme, Tuniq Tower, etc.

Also, you may want the RAM sinks too, seeings the stock cooler cools the RAM as well, and the VF1000 won't.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see the VF1000 comes with RAM sinks.

it really depends. Are you happy with the noise level of your system? If you are, you should spend money on a better CPU cooler instead, as that's what'll decrease your temps.

I'll do that then if need be, besides i must admit i do like the funky green LED's the stock fans have.
