Was thinking about slugs for the classes with shotguns. There is an unlock for flashbangs, I think the shotguns could certainly use slugs for a little better distance and accuracy. If not an unlock then maybe some way to choose between ammo like in some of the other games.
I kno, engineer is kinda hard unless u have the mp7, but still.
The mp7 burns through a clip like me downing a six pack.

The slugs would over power the engy class alot. It would have to be either 1 or 2 shot kills, which would make the Engy class a killing machine (especialy with semi auto shoties).
Yes I understand what your saying. Nothing wrong with 2 shot kills. Just want a little more range so you dont feel so helpless. When you see that other guy far off and your holding your shotgun, granted I switch to my pistol for those longer range shots. Just something to think about.
I hate engineer. the only shotgun i like is the DAO.... man i wish i would of used one of my unlocks to get the MP7 and not the MG36.... the PKM makes the MG36 look like a kids toy
I think the best thing to have is shells that ignite whatever they hit in flames. (like the shotty from Red Faction 2)

Slugs would be a nice idea. You still have to hit the target, would be the same deal like with the railgun. Not easy. The problem is the high rate of fire of some shotties.

Slugs would defeat the purpose of a combat shotgun. Shotguns are used in close quarter situations (clearing out buildings). The Engy should have a 7.62 semi auto carbine or an M16 instead of the worthless pump-action shotgun. The jackhammer is only effective when you're right up one someone and unload 4-6 shells. I think the blast radius for the shotguns should be increased (from what I've noticed, the shells only hold 6 pellets).

I would also like to see at least one of the shoty's with a better (closer) pattern! I have a shotgun with a improved cylinder that has more range than the ones in the game!
If you shot someone in the face from a range of 5 feet, they should die with one shot! I have had to shot sometimes twice to drop them, thats just not right!

Glad to see I'm not the only AvP2 player here. However, slugs aren't really supposed to be that accurate. The barrel of a shotgun isn't exactly bored to sniper rifle standards. The most it should do for BF2 is give the engineer a bit more umph at medium ranges, while depriving him of the easier scatter damage. Be easy enough to implement. Just toggle it like firing modes (only with an animation delay).<b|k> lukie wrote:
