In a way, yes; but it didn't give any advantages to players. So the server being forced to close=stupid.MrAnderson wrote:

Actually, RubberDucky did it for a year or two with Kark/Jalala IO 16 man map/64 slot server but that got shut down for a while; It came back 6 months later and stayed for around 2-3months and then shut down again.
There was so much nade and clayspam on those servers...Jesus Christ. I would have made them illegal just for that reason.
lolz, thats what the market/hotel glitch is for.TrashBlinD wrote:

If you spend some time in small maps where fights are intense, almost like in TWL matches, later on when you go to reg size server you notice that your game skills improved.
There is to much shit going on in those kinds of servers for them to be fun. As you die the second you see your first enemies due to the sheer volume of them there is no way to create any real tactics. And with so many people in such a small space aiming skill won't go very far either.
So basically you get a stalemated cluster fuck where the only way a side can win is if the terrain favors them and allows them better position to throw nades.

Yeah, for the smaller more concentrated maps 32-40 players is about the maximum I'll play. Karkand with 64 players usually devolves into mindless carnage with no real squad play.
The thing that puzzles is all the 64 size Dragon and Fushe maps with 12-20 players on them. Damnedably boring. I guess everybody wants a plane or a chopper.

Dragon valley FTW, unless you're trying to solo against flymo.Flymo wrote:

i'd love to see some taraba 16 server )
great tank battles there

The interesting thing about small maps is that only few players seem to know them. Everytime one comes up, people run around like on there very first day when nobody knew what to do. I saw Ghost Town/16 once, was in a Spec-ops-mood and couldn't even find the enemy assets. Well, i did in the end but it took some time.
Has anyone ever played Leviathan/16, Dalian/16 or Taraba/16. There are so many great maps at small size, even some of the bad maps are great at small size (like Taraba). Midnight Sun/16 is almost as close to the "urban PLA map" as Great Wall is.

Dalian 16 pops up sometimes. As for the other ones, somebody needs to start some servers! I'd love to see Taraba and Midnight Sun 16.Bratwurstschnecke wrote:

RubberDucky and I think there was MGN before that running 16-size Karkand with 64 players. A long time ago they ran it with friendly fire off, extended sprint time, 5 second respawn time and reduced range of effect for grenades and claymores. Awesome carnage.
Exactly. Its because its a booster map that nobody gives it a chance.N00bkilla55404 wrote:
So why do people still bitch for a chinese city map?Nihil wrote:
And then there is Great Wall
If I made a video from that, and can play IO on it, then anybody can. FAMAS > 36E anyday.
Somebody also mentioned Taraba16, I would love to see that online rather than blowing up bots on it Its Highway Tampa, with enough tanks for everyone
Great Wall 16 player should just be released for free on its own so people will play it. I mean it is probably the best map.
And no air power. Just tanks. tanks and more tanks duking it out. I'd love to see this map in action.Snake wrote:

Taraba had tons of armor. If I can remember, there was like 11 pieces of armor, and much more transports, quite a bit for 16 players. It really was fun 16 player. 32 sucked unless you whored the bombers.
My favorite was Great Wall. I played the death out of it. 16 maps were more fun wise than good at whoring points. I can't say the same for the 32 size maps, because I never really played the maps that size, but Dragon Valley was great that way. If you were in the cobra, and the USMC capped all the flags but one for the PLA to spawn = lots of free kills.

i still have a picture of those days when EF was quite popular and playable, with taraba 16.
it was fun.
it was fun.
32 man maps with 42 people playing is the best. The map is small enough to have lots of action but with less 64 man nade spam.
32 Taraba, with 50+ players is mega fun and the bombers are "less annoying" because there are lots more targets. With 20 players, anyone on the ground just gets raped.
Which is why I <3 Taraba in the bombers or fighters
