To keep a long story short, I did a *few* surveys online and now I've come into a mini-wealth of $70. I had to wait for it to transfer to my paypal, and I'm currently waiting for that to transfer to my bank account.
Now, I randomly decided I'm going to spend my money on a 2.1 speaker system that I can use with either my laptop, tv, or iPod. I could have chosen any brand, but it seems Logitech has once again caught my attention for good products, as long as you can get them below MSRP, which is usually the case, provided you look around a little bit.
Initially, I was looking at getting the Logitech Z-4 speakers. Initial reviews were good, saying that even cranked to full volume, the Z-4 had no distortion, but after reading many reviews mentioning a want for more bass "oompf" from the Z-4, I decided to go for the Logitech Z-2300 speakers.
Both are 2.1 channel (2 speakers with 1 subwoofer) sound systems, and both come with a wired remote control that offers a headphone jack and a bass volume control separate from the master volume control. Whereas the Z-4 left many wanting more bass (even at full volume), the Z-2300 clearly puts out more "oompf" as one said that at 40% volume, he had more than enough bass. On top of this, the Z-2300 is THX-certified!
I am patiently waiting for the $70 to finish transferring, after which I will either order the Z-2300 from Amazon or Newegg. Amazon has a cheaper price, but even with having Prime, the shipping is equal to Newegg's cost with free shipping, for a total of $90.99, and a wait time of 3-5 (Amazon) or 1-5 (Newegg) business days for shipping.
