There are only a few truly brand-unique platforms out there. I love it how many Europeans talk like they are the center of innovation and the Japanese and Americans are nothing.

Just look at how many European car companies borrow technology and designs from companies like General Motors and Ford. Alfa Romeo, Opel/Vauxhall and Saab all share tech. Renault and Nissan are so intertwined in design styles and tech it's not even funny. Ford of Europe has set the bar for a lot of other cars in Europe, though. Ford and Volvo and Mazda are also very intertwined. Toyota and Honda and Nissan collectively set the bar in the USA.

Get off the high horse about how everyone copies Europe. It's an international industry. Carrying tech from one car to another cuts costs. Pure and simple.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity.
