Well I need help with a good defrag software. I searched and the ones that stuck out was diskeeper but you have to buy it XD. So, what's a current one that's good. Thanks.

Ok just to keep it all in one topic what's a good firewall? I had zonealarm but, it limited all my download speeds even with changes I made. Thanks.

Defraggler is good, or if you want something a bit more fancy, O&O Defrag works wonders.

Just trying out Defraggler now, seems pretty good. I ran the Windows one the other day, which I thought was good enough, but it still seems to be finding stuff to do.

Windows defragger is very ineffective.

Also, Diskeeper is free. Everything is free.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

We use Diskeeper at my work. Our helpdesk guys are trying to change corporate policy to get it removed since it's caused some disk corruption.

It's what I use as well.  Although I read a review of defrag programs in either PC Magazine or Maximum PC and Diskeeper wasn't the best.

I've been using ZoneAlarm for XP and I love it.  But if you're on Vista, I wouldn't really worry about a firewall.  The built-in one is good enough.

Yeah I use the built-in firewall in Vista and I haven't noticed any problems.

check this site out of anything free, it does suggest a good free firewall and defragment software

I've been using Kaspersky for about 2 years now and its a relatively hastle free firewall. Year license off ebay is only a few quid so doesn't cost much. Only problem is it can slow torrents down so just pause it when using torrents.

Don't touch Karspersky, Norton or any of the big ones. Grab NOD32. You will love it.

What about the Comodo or something? I heard it doesn't mess with the download speed. I want one that won't interfere with my downloading at all . Thanks.

harware firewalls / a router is way better than a software firewall.

as for defrag. O&O is a really nice program
