You don't need chipset drivers but in order to improve compatibility with other hardware and stability and get better performance (SLi,..)- they are recommended.Havok wrote:

Well vista won't install 3dmark06 it has worked in the past but for some reason not now.

I love Vista but its won't let me play some games without giving me issues. BF2/2142 works fine COD4 gives me an error occasionaly. I'm going to switch back to XP x64 for the time being so I play without issues. I'll just upgrade later on since M$ is going to be releasing a new OS before long.Havok wrote:

Yay the drivers are screwing with my computer. I can't get anything to work in normal mode, and I can't uninstall things like the network manager in safe mode.

Good thing the only nForce chipset I own hasn't been supported for four years.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. I think I found out why some of my games stopped working and gave me errors with OpenAL.
When I update my computer with that my games stopped working. Then I would reinstall OpenAL and the games would work. Then if I tried to reinstall the update my games will not work again. I don't know exactly what happens but I have figured this much out.
