Any bullshit and I will be very angry and upsetMy dentist appointment at my local hospital was brought forward from July 1st to 24th June (next Tuesday). What I'm having done involves five teeth being taken out and my wisdom teeth are going to be pulled through as they have been waiting for my teeth to come out so they can grow.
Being autistic myself, I hate things being put in my mouth and I'm going to find it absolutely awful, even though I'm going to be put to sleep. I'm going to be gassed, at my own request (I hate needles like the black death). This may sound alright to you guys because I won't know whats going to happen, but I'm dreading next Tuesday.
Does anyone have any advice to calm myself down (not alcohol or drugs mad), I can't think straight at the moment, this thing is at the back on my mind
Cross your fingers that the local anaesthetic doesn't run out mid-op.
6/10
As I said before: Keep off the solids, onto the liquids post-op.

Just try taking your mind off of it and try not to think of it. Watch TV, play games. The more you think about it, the more "panicky" you will get.
Have a cuppa tea. It helps.
I had my wisdom teeth out in March. Didn't hurt a bit. The only annoying part was the freezing disappearing, it felt weird. In your case though...stay hydrated, and don't forget to eat (even if it's milkshakes/bowls of ice cream).
How to take you mind off it now: find a FPS game and shoot the piss out of some online n00bs.

You could wake up in the middle of the op you know.. and needles hurt quite a bit.
No they dont. They are just a slight prick in and thats it. You people are pussy's.Ultimatrox wrote:

Just keep your mind off of it. Deal with it when it comes. You wont feel and damn thing and you wont wake up in the middle of the operation.

Get some head phones.
Good luck Kerry. I've never been (purposefully) knocked out before, so I can only give good wishes.
I didn't chat shit.
Man up.
It's not a scary situation at all.
There are people in the world, in much worse situations as I type and as you walk into that practice. So why are you sitting here scared about going to the Dentist.
Also, you'll be totally knocked out. So you won't feel shit. Really now, Kez if you're so scared about this.....you need to prepare yourself more for the real world.

I don't understand what being autistic has to do with hating things being in your mouth.
In this case, FDR was right: the only thing you have to fear, et cetera, et cetera. What's going to happen is you're going to get in the chair, get gassed or whatever, be vaguely aware of something happening to your face, then start to wake up and realize you have a mouth full of gauze. The doc will prescribe some pain relief meds and you'll probably go home and sleep for a bit. Your jaw will ache a little for a few days. Then you'll feel stupid for being so worried about it.

Write a will
Good Luck
I love the people who are telling him to "man up" and shit.
Do you have any idea what it is like to have autism? Not likely, so you can't tell him that it's not scary at all, having autism means you don't like people touching you, so the thought of people being in your mouth must be terrifying for Kerry. Although I can't really relate to what you must be feeling, I can kind of imagine the dread.
Just take your mind off it, the only things I can think of are do stuff that you enjoy and don't think about it.
Hope it goes well, i'll be thinking of you!

What else is there to do? Its something you won't like, but cant avoid... Do you best to focus on other things, but your pretty worked up about it so thats not gonna happen too much.
It will suck, it will probably hurt some and you won't like it. Then it will be done but will still hurt a little. Then it wont hurt, then you will be fine.
Not much left to do but suck it up, autistic or not some times all you can do is deal with it....

Just make sure once its done...If your mouth is still numb, hit yourself. I spent all day just puching myself to find the next day lots of rips on the inside of my cheek.
