As soon as its released im getting one, is it a good choice? The GTX 280 is just too much for what its worth.

I checked tomshardware.com and their benchmark scores seem to be pretty good for the 260.

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/nvidia-gt … 71-18.html

Look at the crysis scores, it just about or im some cases beats both the ati X2 and the Nvidia GX2.

This is the one im looking at

Well if the ati 4 series of cards work with this...

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … i%20SLI%20(Socket%20775)%20PCI-Express%20DDR2%20Motherboard%20(MB-N780-ISH9)

Then i might consider...but its a nvidia make and stuff so its highly unlikely my friend.

no, you can use ATi cards on an NVidia chipset just like you can use an NVidia card on an Intel Chipset.

Only drawback is that you can't go crossfire on an NVidia chipset, just like you can't go SLi on an Intel Chipset.

You would be able to run the 4870X2 on it.  Seriously dude, it be daft to buy the card without waiting to see what the competition is offering.  Even if u stick to Nvidia, there price cuttin the new cards AGAIN soon.  GTX 260 is tipped to hit $349-$399 within a few weeks :\

Nvidia has already dropped the prices of GTX 280 and GTX 260 and it doesn’t plans to let ATI rest. ATI started this nasty game with RV670, Radeon 3870 and 3850 cards, and Nvidia now wants to put a lot of pressure on the soon-to-be-launched Radeon HD 4870.

Radeon 4870 was supposed to launch at $329, but it will probably drop to $299 very fast and at the same time GTX 260 is going to drop to way under $399.

This is not the last of it, as we believe that this card will rapidly drop to at least $349 very soon. With such pricing Nvidia will put a lot of pressure on Radeon HD 4870.

This is not all, as 9800GTX will drop to far below $299 to put some pressure on the Radeon HD 4850, and we believe that Geforce 9800 GTX should very soon start selling for $249 and later drop even more.
Anyone who buys a video card before the 25th deserves to get fucking ripped off.

I paid 110€ for my 3870, shipped. I'm happy, even if there's some über-leet card out there.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
