Ok, not exactly tech, but pretty close.
I am looking for a new Mouse Pad for a G5. My razer exact mat has worn down pretty quickly and im looking for something good sized, willing to spend up to 40 dollars for it.
Any Suggestions?

It depends really on your comfort.  I happen to like the mouse pads that have the gel-like support for your wrist.  It helps reduce excessive pain in the wrist from gaming.

Do you like slower or faster mousepads?

Laser mice react very well with hard surfaces, so I would say get a hard mousemat, like a steel series or something.

I have a Flexiglow acrylic mousepad, it's pure sechs. My G5 and G9 both work great with it.

I may be attacked for this statement, but I don't think your mouse pad matters all that much.  As long as you're not using a complete garbage one.  Hell, I'm using a black Commerce Bank mouse pad with a hard plastic surface.  It works wonders and I picked it up for free.  Can't imagine spending $40 on a mat.  You could buy a damn mouse for that price.

I may get attacked for this statement... but I cant imagine actually spending money for one period. Well ok for a wrist support.
Otherwise I have always just used my desk, and it works perfect. Clean the desk, and the friction surfaces of the mouse periodically and you are fine.

Me either. I'm using an SR-71 Blackbird mousepad I picked up at an Air Show and I'm fine. I'm much better at sniping now that I have this and my new G7, and it's not because of the mouse pad.

I use this "microthin" mousepad I bought from Office Depot. It works great as a surface but slides around too much. Easily fixed with double-sided tape.

I just use my desk... I don't have enough space for a mousemat anyway, and i really don't see the point in spending money on one.

My desk is this crappy laminated stuff with like half an inch of varnish - works like crap for mouse tracking.
Figure I might as well get something that will last me a while while I'm at it, my G5 seems to tear through mouse pads and I figure I can turn this one around and use different parts of it.

Lol, I thought you were talking about mouse pads.

I have used my G5 on my desk for a long time, but switched to my current OEM mouse pad because the teflon feet we're getting fucked up.

I'm getting a new mouse pad with my build in 2 weeks, though.

I have used the same funcpad "surface 1030" for years now. It's very amazingly awesome. I've also heard great things about the C4 mousepads, essentially a sheet of teflon, but I've never used them personally.

How does a mouse tear through mouse pads?  I've been using the same mat for over 2 years and god only knows how long my dad has been using his.  At least 7 years now.

It has this kinda like rough surface, and the mouse wore it down. Now its basically like using my mouse on a piece of plastic and it makes ths annoying scratching noise. Probably has something to do with me not cleaning it (Its clean now, but I guess grit or whatever could have worn it down.

As far as color, no preference, as long as its not purple or whatever.
Ill take a look at the func pads, they seem pretty popular. Karma when ever it recharges.
