4850 looks to be quite excellent, according to AnandTech. They do, however, mention that for some reasons, in some games Crossfire doesn't help at all - you get the same FPS with one or two. It's interesting.Zimmer wrote:

That's always been a drawback to SLI and Crossfire. If the game doesn't support multiple cards, or there isn't a profile for that specific game, performance is on par, or in some cases worse (due to overhead), than a single card solution.Smithereener wrote:

They where. 4850 was not supposed to launch right now. They where sort of bullied into releasing 4850 earlier. Apparantly large customers put in the call to allow it to be released (they where buying like crazy). And the fact that people where getting 4850s even before then.Volatile wrote:
