Last night some cola pwnd my G-15.
The ESC, F1, F2, F3 area got liquified.
Now when I press ENTER.. I get the F1 Help screen.
The Up key gives this: \
Not working: O P K L { } \
The Backspace closes the window..

The lights are still working but the keys have gone haywire..
What can be done to fix this or is this the end of a G-15?

Take the keys out and then back in. And wash them. Too bad its a G15 with an LCD otherwise I'd recommend washing it in a washing machine, seriously.

I done the same thing with beer last weekend.

i had to strip the keyboard down and unplugged all the small wires ( the ribbon that links the screen is a pain to put back in)

wiped of all the drink on the circuit boards and left it out to dry for a few hours, then just put it all back together.

is your lcd screen flashing through all the things?

Do what .sup said. Next time, in the event of this happening again, unplug the keyboard immediately, grab some paper towels, then set the keyboard upside down on the towels. Wait overnight for as much liquid to drain out as possible, then take the keys out and wash them then pop them back in.

There's probably some liquid either shorting or compressing the layers of plastic with sensors, that make up the keyboard. If you open it up, take out the thin plastic film that runs through the whole thing (Usually two or three layers), wipe, and dry it off, and then put it back, everything should work again. If there is something on the circuit board(s), wipe them off, and let them dry for a day.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
