Beef anything from - $8-25kg
Lamb's expensive - $20-30kg
Prices really haven't gone up very much at all. Except Lamb. We might spend $100 or so a week for 3 people.
Most American farming is corporate and very efficient. If you're concerned about labor expenses... well, we have illegals for that.
Subsidies actually cause several foods to
rise in prices rather than lower. What makes a lot more sense than subsidization is to simply block foods from certain countries. There are a number of 3rd World countries that export food to the U.S. that are health risks to us because of bad sanitation practices. The FDA is supposed to protect us, but as of late, they've really failed at that.
