You saw their change in the 650k entry level workers that congress forced companies to discriminate against.

Minimum wage legislation has little effect positive or negative because of illegal labor.
When you look at the timing and the fact that workers were keeping their jobs at the same time it's clear that the people who could not gain work were the ones just entering the job market. Those numbers have nothing to do with "undocumented" workers. Unemployment is a reflection of unemployed citizens. Maybe congress just forced more companies to go illegal.. but it surely effects unemployment numbers. There is no denying that.
The problem is how we measure underemployment as opposed to unemployment.  There are many people working part time that can't find full time work.  This has an effect on employment figures in the sense that we're less employed than the official rate shows.  Since the official rate doesn't account for employed illegals, there is a lot of evidence to suggest that illegals are picking up the slack so to speak.

...except when you look at union contracts whose pay scale is based upon multiples of the minimum wage.  They do not get paid minimum wage, but if the wage level goes up, their paychecks sky-rocket.  Labor costs raise, unions would fight a reduction in workers to compensate.  Only option left is a drastic increase in the cost of products built with union labor.

Last I heard, there were less than a million people nation-wide who are actually making minimum wage.  Since this came from a partisan source, I am almost sure the number was 'tweaked' somehow (and before you cast stones, I got it from someone on MY side of the aisle; I am just aknowledging that both sides play the game), but it still shows that only a very small portion of the US actually relies on minimum wage.

Illegals make a lot MORE than minimum wage; at least, here in Texas they do.  I suppose it depends on what field they are working in.

Believe me, they're every bit as bad as the Republicans people like to hate on. I'm STILL waiting for the so-called 'change' that Pelosi promised us. I mean, sure we've had change in oil prices and the number of dead in Iraq, but I'm hoping that's not what she meant.

That entire area of DC is just a three ring circus. The House, the Senate, and the White House.
Didn't she say that they were going to lower fuel prices when they won in 2006.
