Alright. So, I got into a fight with my (girl) friend. She's my best friend, and I love her to death. I really want to ask her out, but I'm scared that she'll say no, and if she said yes but we broke up, I'm afraid we might never be friends again.

Anyway. Story tiem.

We (me, friends, best friend) were all outside, just goofing around. I lie down on the grass for a rest. A basketball my best friend (henceforth referred to as awsm chick) and one of her friends were playing with comes flying towards my genitalia. Awsm chick shouts a warning, I dodge ball. I look at her with this questioning look, and she looks at me and says "I didn't do it." In a joking, humorous tone of voice, I say, "Sure it wasn't." She goes nuts and gets pissed for what I think is no reason. This came as a total shock to me, because a few minutes earlier she had been really huggy and friendly. Is she pissed because of the fact that I was basically ignoring her affection, or because of something else?

B. Doesn't like you

How long have you two been talking or when did you feel the connection? Have you too hooked up anywhere? It might be time to ask her out if its been a while

We met about 6 months ago, and we've(read: I) been trying to talk to her at least everyday since we met. Usually we run into each other randomly because we live close to each other. We haven't hooked up, we just go places as regular, normal friends.

We met about 6 months ago, and we've(read: I) been trying to talk to her at least everyday since we met. Usually we run into each other randomly because we live close to each other. We haven't hooked up, we just go places as regular, normal friends.
invite her over, no pressure for kissing, just watch tv or something. I got lucky with my girl since we both  do nothing so we can sit on the couch or in bed together for hours and do nothing but talk or don't even talk at all. Even before I asked her out we were sitting in her room or mine just talking. If shes wild then try to do something fun with her like take her to a party or movie.

As to your other concerns about asking her out - I say do it. You'll regret it if you don't. Just tell her how you feel about her and see what she thinks. If she doesn't see you that way then fine, problem solved and doubts erased - it may be a bit awkward for a while but you'll get past that and carry on same as always.
Don't just say "d'yawannagooutwithme?" whenever you pluck up the confidence to, actually talk to her and explain yourself. Tell her that you want to give you guys as a couple a try and see what she thinks.

If you're successful and you go out but then eventually break up you don't have to loose her as a friend. There's this kind of feeling that everyone seems to have where if you break up with someone that's it, you cut all ties and move on - girls feel this way especially. This isn't always true and if you don't want this to happen in the event of a break up just tell her that you don't want to loose her as a friend. With a bit of effort there should be no problem. Just say "right, we didn't work as a couple but as friends we were pretty good, so lets just go back to being friends." Again, it can lead to a bit of awkwardness but you'll get past that.

If you go out, eventually get engaged, get married and have ten kids then I call Godfather on your firstborn.

he's right. i asked a friend out last year, we broke it off, and it was awkward for all of two weeks and then everything was back to how it was before. the trick is to just pretend it never happened for awhile.

do it. seriously. sounds like she's a keeper and the whole what if thing is horrible. do it. tommorrow.
