I stumbled across a video of this senator and thought it was so funny I had to do a background check on this guy.  What I found was both hilarious and disturbing.  America, meet one of your senators, Sen. Robert Byrd of West Virginia:

First, the wiki bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_byrd

Note in the article that this guy is 91 years old and was in the Ku Klux Klan where, "According to Byrd, a Klan official told him "You have a talent for leadership, Bob... The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation.".  After that he went on to be elected into the Congress and would later filibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for over 14 hours.  Later in life "Byrd, with then-fellow Senator George Allen (R-VA), made a cameo appearance in the movie Gods and Generals, where he played a Confederate general, while Allen played a Confederate officer."

But don't get me wrong, I don't hate this guy.  No sir.  I LOVE THIS GUY!  Pretty much everything he does is lulzy as hell, I mean, just watch these videos:

Sleeping.

Saying "White Niggers" during a FOX interview.

Emphasizing the importance of Timbuktu and referring to Senators in the second and third person.

Barbaric.  Barbaric. Baw-Bear-ICK!!!

Denfending his age by talking about painters and Michaelangelo.

Sobbing uncontrollably and Thank God for Ted Kennedy!

Owning the Code Pink fags.

Do you think old people should be in our nations leadership roles?  Do you think old people who are ex-KKK members who also happen to be senile and crazy to be in our nations leadership roles?  What about if they just babble a lot?

Either way America, this is one example of the kind of people who lead our country.  LOL.

On March 19, 2003, when Bush ordered the invasion after receiving U.S. Congress approval, Byrd stated:

"Today I weep for my country. I have watched the events of recent months with a heavy, heavy heart. No more is the image of America one of strong, yet benevolent peacekeeper. The image of America has changed. Around the globe, our friends mistrust us, our word is disputed, our intentions are questioned. Instead of reasoning with those with whom we disagree, we demand obedience or threaten recrimination."[45]
