Hi all,
To cut a very long story short, let's just say Creative support is terrible and their drivers for Vista are even worse.
At the moment I have freshly reformatted my computer to try and remedy my crippled sound-system, but have run into another Creative-created predicament. None of my old Creative Volume Panel or control panel are available, so I can't even tweak my sound. All I have is the rather rudimentary Creative console, which has very limited functionality and customability. Apparently the full suite of Creative software isn't available to anyone that has the common sense to download new drivers off their website-- it seems instead you have to look to the 2-year old Creative installation CD, which of course just my luck... I do not have anymore.
So, does anyone here have the Creative X-Fi CD for Vista (64 bit)? I'm desperately looking for an upload of the files; a .ZIP, an .ISO... anything. If anyone has this CD themselves or knows where to find such a file on the Internet, I will Karma you until oblivion. As it stands right now I'm so fed up... the first Creative drivers ruined the surround-sound and made my sound quality terrible, and now I have reformatted I can't even access or use the software I SHOULD be entitled to, because they don't host it on their website. So, I've lost 500Gb of data and my sound is still Creative''ly-typically awful.
Kudos and Karmaz to anyone that can help!
